installing driver debian


this is a beta driver rt2xx00,for my particular adapter,my situation is in the read me of the driver it gives instructions such as below, Build Instructions:
====================

- $make
# Build rt2x00 & ieee80211 modules with default options.
- $make nodebug
# Build rt2x00 & ieee80211 module without debug capabilities.
- $make rt2x00-nodebug
# Build rt2x00 module without debug capabilities.
- $make ieee80211-debug
and so on,
my difficulty with this is do i type all these lines as they are into the terminal i have tryd variations of it but i get command not found or something similar??? would appreciate advice on how i should approach it,im using debian sarge 3.1r2 i386,with a belkin usb wireless adapter version 3,,thanks

This card is well-supported and should be easy to install. Your question is difficult to understand. Follow these instructions.

My real advice would be to dump Sarge and install Etch. Much better driver support, and if you get the 2.6.17 kernel from Sid, I think that card is supported by the kernel.

Unhappy deviation

hi and thanks again,i have changed my system to ubuntu 5.10,but i still have the same issue,i reckoned ubuntu has more tools i could work with,if you can perhaps help with this system,i changed OS a couple of days ago so im not disregarding your suggestions on etch,i already installed ubuntu before i recieved this post thanks a mil,
