Installing ClamAV from source on Debian x86_64 - problems
Hi all -
I've installed Debian sid/unstable (for AMD64 (x86_64)) and am trying to get the MIMEdefang/ClamAV/Spamassassin thing working, (yes, with Sendmail), because it's what I've done before with other servers and am familiar with this combination and it works well for me (once it's installed). No flames, please.
Anyway, trying to install these from source, per the MIMEdefang HOWTO. There are a couple of issues, but first is ClamAV. When I run ./configure, it can't seem to find the GMP library and the curl library (both are installed):
checking for __gmpz_init in -lgmp... no
checking for mpz_init in -lgmp... no
configure: WARNING: ****** GNU MP 2 or newer NOT FOUND - digital signature support will be disabled !
checking for curl >= 7.10.0... FAILED
configure: WARNING: curl-config was not found
However, dselect shows that these packages are installed:
dselect - main package listing (avail., priority) mark:+/=/- verbose:v
EIOM Pri Section Package Inst.ver Avail.ver Description
*** Opt libs libgmp3 4.1.4-6 4.1.4-6 Multiprecision arithmetic library
*** Opt libs libcurl3 7.14.0-2 7.14.0-2 Multi-protocol file transfer library
So...how do I make the configure routine find these libraries? Yes, I *did* run ldconfig.
If you're asking why I'm installing from source, it's because MIMEdefang can't find ClamAV with its configure routine if I install the Debian ClamAV packages.
Once I get this configured and installed, MIMEdefang should build correctly.
Thanks for any assistance you can offer -- Bob
