Installer not showing partitions.

My PC configuration is as follows:
CPU: AMD Athlon II 245 X2
RAM: 2GB DDR2
MB: ASUS M2A74-AM
SATA DVD-Writer
WD 320GB SATA HDD.

SATA Controller is in AHCI mode in BIOS.

Partition Table:

1. Pri. (Windows 7 Ultimate)
2. Log. (Data)
3. Log. 15GB free space (want to install Linux in this partition)

I want to install Debian 5.0.4 from DVD. But the installer is not showing any partitions, it says entire hard disk is blank. But I ran 'fdisk -l' in the console, it shows the partitions correctly. Please help installing Debian.

I tried several times. Same results. Infact 'fdisk -l' works fine, even the kernel reports the partition fine. But the installer is not seeing them :-(

I am not going to see your reply as I will be camped out on a remote ranch fence trying to get it replaced before everything freezes but it would probably help if you posted the result of "fdisk -l" here so folks really know what your are working with.

Meanwhile I have been tweaking partitions, I made them as:

1. Pri (Windows 7 Ultimate) - 59.49 GB
2. Pri (Data) - 223.56 GB (converted from logical to primary)*
3. Logi. 15 GB (free space)

Now the installer recognised, installation went smoothly. Thanks for your concern.
