installation halts at 5% on software install screen
 
Hi GUys

I am installing debian 4.0R3

I get to the screen that shows select and install software and it halts at 5 %

AND

control + alt + f4 gives me this screen shot

typing "yes" does not do anything

please help

that output isn't meant to be interactable as it's just sending debug output. Assuming that's apt-get running, just install the software without the daft gui... "apt-get install whatever-it-is" then you'll be able to interact just fine if necessary

Thanks but that is happening during installation process.and it says
type "yes" to continue and when I do that nothing happens

It could be a bad download or bad media. Did you check the iso file md5sum? Have you tried burning at a lower speed? Are you using a rewritable cd? etc.
