Install on Promise tx4302 SATA

I just tried to install 3.1r3 on my system--it will not recognize the SATA driver. **most** of my other distros have had no problem.

Even in expert mode + 2.6 kernel, there do not seem to be any menu choices to enable the SATA.

Abit KD133R/Athlon XP2400 @2.246GHz
Promise TX4302 SATA-II controller
2 Seagate SATA-II 250GB drives
1 GB ram

A few months ago they said, there was an known bug with sata-drivers on istall and a workaround on the official debian install-howto-site, try searching a bit
