install default GNOME programs


hi

during the wrong deinstall commands like:

# aptitude purge skype
I've lost some GNOME programs like text editor gedit etc.

howto get now default GNOME with all lost programs ?

# apt-get install gdm
# apt-get update gdm
# apt-get upgrade gdm
could not help.

Hi,

Looks like you need to reinstall/update/ Gnome and not GDM.

Open your /var/log/dpkg.log and simply reinstall those packages that were inadvertently removed. It's a protected file so you'll need to read it with admin privileges.
