import icedove settings and mail into thunderbird

Hi, I want to run the official mozilla thunderbird version from the mozilla website. How do I get my user preferences, mail, pgp settings, etc.. copied over from icedove to thunderbird? I tried simply copying what was in my .mozilla-thunderbird directory, but that (obviously) isn't enough.

Thanks,

Jim

where did you copy ~/.mozilla-thunderbird? I had no issues going Thunderbird --> Icedove just leaving ~/.mozilla-thunderbird where it was. You might have to edit the profile.ini file to point to the right folder(Thunderbird might add a new, empty profile and set it default) or try using the Profile Manager (which should be right under Thunderbird in the Applications menu).

There should not be any special trick to it. They both handle all those settings and data storage exactly the same way as far as I know.
