iceweasel network timeouts
 

hello,

I have recently installed 'Debian 5' Lenny but i am unable to browse the web with iceweasel. I just sits there at the 'connecting to google.com' for some time and then gives a network timeout error. Currently konqueror is working fine. I also tried firefox after downloading it from the mozilla site. But even it does not work and gives the same problem.

That problem might be connected to ipv6, which is enabled by default in Firefox, but not all providers support it yet. In either browser, enter about:config in the address line, then in the filter box enter ipv6 - that should leave just a single line about disabling ipv6, which is set to 'false'. Double click it to set it to true. Restart the browser and see whether it works now.
