i have i problem.. i use always kernel compile from apt-get " apt-get install kernel-lalalala " But i have a webcam, and dont work.. maybey usb suport it's not load or it's not possilble i dont know :( anyone help me? tks :) |
Do a google search on the type of webcam + Linux and see what you need. The usb modules should be available via modconf command as root. Insert the relevant usb driver you need. I also suggest apt-get installing hotplug and discover to make the diver initialisation at boot easier
|
support for some phillips webcams was pulled from the 2.6 kernel recently due to a proprietary module in the driver.
try 2.6.6 or 2.6.7 maybe. |
yes i have 2.6.6 and the open it's on usb, but i cant get the files in.. maybey the kernel dont suport i dont know.. :(

Debugging information for the printer according to this thread I found doing a quick google linux search on the error message it should be harmless but annoying. |

we need more details.
like manufacturer, device name, etc. do a google search on "linux <manufacturer> <device name>" to find more info about how to get the webcam working. also, do a search for "linux webcams" in order to get webcams working. try posting in a different forum because i don't think a lot of debian users use webcams. good luck. |
