How to show a variable menu list in Kdialog?

I am trying to do a simple program with kdialog which has a variable list such as (This is taken from /usr/sbin/netcardconfig file):

Xdialog --menu "Select a card" 18 45 12 $NETDEVICES 2>"/tmp/mydevice"

I did:

kdialog --menu "Select a card" $NETDEVICES 2>"/tmp/mymodem"

The variable list is obtained by this line:

NETDEVICES="$(cat /proc/net/dev | awk -F: '/eth.:|tr.:|wlan.:/{print $1}')"

But did not work. Any idea?
