How to pick a server ip....


hello i'm trying to create server with the ip i want but i have 3diff ip i can make...for example i want to have this ip 38.99.168.192:27016 on css...how do i do that

Are you referring to your web server/website being accessible to the outside/Internet ?

If yes, then you need to look into port forwarding in your router/modem so that port 80 etc gets forwarded to the web server in the NAT.

Generally, you get assigned IPs, you don't get to pick them.

i told support but they told me it's not their jobi have to configurate the game server for that ip....i also have troubling whith this chmod: cannot access `server.sh': No such file or directory., im trying to create server in scrds but i get that...

I think you do it like this:

Open:

/etc/network/interfaces

and make an entry:

iface eth0 inet static
address 38.99.168.192
netmask 255.255.255.255

Save the file and do:

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

The interface should come up configured. Then you just need to forward the proper port through the router or firewall NAT. That you can get to that using the ip address of the router in a browser url box.

thanks...i got my server working than i did reboot to restart server some how my server stop and cannot run...i still can log in...cant findout why
