Heya,

I woulkd like to know how to install mplaye and their dependenices with apt-get.

I know that I should add deb ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ testing main in my
/etc/apt/sources.list. That is very simple, and I did it. And then?? What should I do? Wohich command should I use?

Is there any command that allow me to install all this packeges and their dependenices.

If someone could help me, I'll be very thankful.

Best regads,

Hi

Open a terminal and type su followed by your root password

Then type

apt-get update

This will update your package list

Then type

apt-get install mplayer

This should now install mplayer and its dependencies.

Strange. Seems that you have some parts of mplayer already installed (what is mplayer common?).

Look what you have from before:

$ dpkg --list 'mplayer*'

Perhaps you have to remove/reinstall some of these packages?

It worked for me. I have to look which related packages there are installed.

Best,

Ott

Wink

Just use synaptic. For those of us who are still challenged at the command line, synaptic gives a wonderful view of all the things you can install.

"sux -" to root, and run "synaptic &"

very easy.
