How to get freevo for etch ? geole not there

Hello

How to get freevo for etch ? geole not there
Thanks

I'm not sure about etch, but I run Lenny and Freevo 1.8.x is there and works fine.

Also freevo isn't too hard to get working from 'source'; it's just a python app.

Good luck!

Try these. Use the 1.5.3 as a last resort. Let me know if they work?

For Freevo 1.5.3

deb http://freevo.sourceforge.net/debian unstable main
deb http://debian-multimedia.org sarge main

For Freevo 1.7.x

deb http://debian.geole.info/ etch main contrib non-free

The repo debian-multimedia.org provides multimedia packages for dvd playback. For Etch itīs not neccesary, but recommendable.

deb http://debian-multimedia.org etch main

Unfortunately the geole is not yet back and these freevo repositories arent working for etch:

Here is the results of

apt-get install freevo

Support for Etch will be ending next month (I believe), might be time to start thinking about updating to Lenny.

It seems that I will have to compile, long long, this Freevo for etch :( I havent kept the debs of geole.

And mirror of the backports and multimedia for w32codecs, will be mirrored somewhere?

What is the minimum kernel is for LENNY or ETCH?
If it is >2.18, I will have to stay with etch :( Pentium II and one Pentium III

The download link for Freevo for ETCH is here.

Please could someone add those files for the repositories to his / her website, so that users can add those freevo as contrib into sources.list ?
example
# deb http://debian.somebodyswebsite/ etch contrib non-free

Hello Guys,

I am please to share you the configuration for a fast Freevo Multimedia center + headlines.

tar.gz with all the required files.
http://depositfiles.com/files/8j1i7s2ez
f76eeb82ea8cc414ef72829b63620717 Freevo-fast-2.6.18-multimedia-center-etch.tar.gz

The tricks:
- I use a 2.6.18 and the FAN is not burning out with the 2.6.22 kernel completely too heavy for a slow machine
- You can play movies as a normal pc
- And xdotool is not employed, I use g++ and xfakekey instead :)
- The remote control is great, working with lirc
- Freevo lirc python is too evolved for ETCH. I use another sort of tricks

All work with a slow PC, faster than ever !!

Enjoy !
