But in my another PC where I have the same debian and that system is accepting me as root login. But I do not know what I have done, my frnd has done sometning.

so need help that what setting required so my first system is able to do the login as root also.

What error message do you get?
Apparently you can use "su" to become root, so I assume that it is accepting the root password.

Some systems do not allow root to log in to the GUI (Graphical Desktop). There should be a menu somewhere to control this. (I'm on Mepis at the moment and I cannot find it.)

Also, can you do ctrl-alt-F1 and log in as root?

In the thread link below are instructions in post #3 for KDE, if you have Gnome, you may want to do a search for similar file or string.

hey , thnx for hint I got the solution.

I was getting this error " THe sys.admin is not allowd to login from this screen"

I went to configure desktop option at the time of login. and put the system admin can do the login. That option enabled.

done. :)

I faced same problem in Debian 4 and could not add user from the root login when I had selected "single user login" at the boot screen of Grub. But when I did 'startx', it took me to GUI and there I could add the user.

You could also try this.
1. On booting login to single user mode.
2. When you are at terminal, now login as root.
3. Run "startx"
4. Try doing the settings you want.

I hope that helps.
