How to add a source module

hi every body,

Sorry for the question again (I've posted it in hardware forum) I haven't receive good reply may be here.

I know this is a trivial question for most of you, please don't say me to read the How to ?!

someone can say me how ( the main steps )to add a new module. I mean I download a source for my driver say FooMod.c and I want to add it to my system , ( without compiling the whole kernel ).
I understand this like compiling a C program and add it to the kernel on hot, but certainly with options !!?

thank you very much
bela

It all depends on the module, but you always need the kernel headers from the running kernel (to which you wish to add the module). If you have compiled your kernel by yourself the headers created when building the kernel will be used. When the module is built and installed you usually call modproble <modulename> to load the module.

The bottom line: Read the installation docs for the module you are installing.
