Hard-disk installation
I'm using Windows dual boot with Slack, now interested in Debian.
I don't have a CR-Writer, but I've got a lot of empty space in my hard disk and if I download a DVD image of Debian from the internet to my Windows partition. Can I install Debian from that. |
google debian net-install...should be exactly what ya need:)
Or,install via debian based live cd like kanotix...which has three hdd install options....Debian like system(recommended) beginner-mass hardware detection kanotix install just like the cd(basically a copy cd to hard drive) You should, considering you have plenty of space,be able to make a new partition and install debian there. The install will recognise your existing bootmanager. Good luck |
Try netinst image for floppy. It won't take a lot of floppy disc I think. Then after you setup the base system, you can download-as-you-go using apt-get. ;) You don't even need to download one whole DVD, apt-get will just get whatever you need just as you need it (read apt-howto from Debian).
