grub+adding windows option


Hey guys I got a machien at work that I loaded debian on but it didn't notice the windows 2k partition. How can I get it to recognize that parttiioon and be able to boot to it?

check /etc/lilo.conf and /boot/grub/menu.lst depending on what you are using; they should be examples there.

Windows Xp is on the first partition on my drive. I boot it with
Code:
title=Windows XP
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
makeactive
You shouldn't need much different (of course reflect the actual partition your win resides on. That partition has an operating system on it, of course?

the partition does indeed contain an os

I will begin working on this next monday. I was just wanting to learn a lil before i begin doing it. Now that I know were to look I can check this out more throughly. Thanx again.
