google toolbar in iceweasel

How do I add google toolbar in iceweasel, the add on doesn't work .

Welcome to one of the absurdities of Debian. How it would harm anyone to have Firefox shipped with Debian is beyond my grasp.

The easy thing to do is simply install Firefox.

Debian can't ship Firefox because the dd's make some changes to it, and Mozilla won't let them redistribute it under the same name.

Hence the name IceWeasel.

simply change the user,agent to say Firefox.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008112309 Firefox/3.0.4 (Debian-3.0.4-1)

Googletoolbar messes my tabs up, so I removed it.

It's very simple:
Just type into the adress bar of your iceweasel "about:config".
Then type into the Filter line "firefox".
Then click the line "general.useragent.extra.firefox" with your right mousebutton and change "Iceweasel" into "Firefox".

That's all, now you can install the google toolbar.
