Google+ new notification hangs when clicked

Hi,I am using Debian 7 Wheezy gnome desktop.Iceweasel is the browser. When I click on (the bell) new notification it hangs trying to connect and doesn't load notifications. This only happens when I am on my gmail page, not when I am on the google+ page
any help appreciated

Interesting. Perhaps this is a Gnome issue. Your issue does not happen for me; I'm running Debian 7 with xfce4. I tried this with Iceweasel on the gmail page.

Many thanks for your reply, I too have tried running google+ on LXLE (lubuntu) with no issues!
