gnome-terminal command history file??

Just as we can find the history of commands for a text console installed in the file ~.bash_history, where can we find the history of commands for the terminal screen inside GNOME i.e. command history of gnome-terminal.

I am using Debian etch (2.6.13)

Well on some searching I found that by giving command history -c I can clear the contents of the history file
