Gnome menu mixed with KDE in Debian Testing

Gnome 2.10.1 is now on Etch, I apt-get dist-upgrade and now my Gnome menu is a mess. It mixed up with kde menu, which has no icons. My previous manually added menu is now gone. I know it is because of the Debian unified whatever menu thingy. Any chances of fixing it back without having to do it manually?

I haven't used kde or gnome in ages (wmaker is so nice ) but I do know that the Debian menu system is provided by the "menu" package. Check out if you've got the menu package installed (dpkg -l menu). If that is the case, then removing it (aptitude remove menu) might give you normal gnome menus.
