gnome-keyboard-properties broken in lenny?

I can't start gnome-keyboard-properties in lenny. This is a new install on an encrypted LVM.

Bug Buddy comes up as soon as I click or type gnome-keyboard-properties in a term. No error messages.

I tried reinstalling gnome-control-center, changing locales and themes. It just won't work.

Any ideas?

Here's the Bug Buddy report:

The program is running. Quit anyway (and detach it)? (y or n) [answered Y; input not from terminal]

quick fix using sid

I had the same problem. It seems to be related to a conflict between libxklavier and the gnome-control-center in lenny. The quick and dirty fix that I used was:

1) edit /etc/apt/sources.list to add sid.
2) upgrade gnome-control-center
3) re-edit /etc/apt/sources.list to remove sid. This way the update manager won't nag about a bunch of updates that I don't want

Now you will have gnome-control-center 2.20. At least on my system, everything now works.

Hope this helps
