Gnome 2.16 complete in Experimental

Just ran across this announcement. Reading thru it, some of the programs I use have known problems. I'm too old and conservative at the moment, but maybe you'd like to try it.

Thanks for the news.
But looking at your second comment, I don't really want to try it (already knew it was broken since etch won't include it) but can you just tell me like which common apps have things broken? (not really into the bts and yesterday alioth db server was not working)
Thanks!!

edit: ok I read the link

Red face failed attempt :((

i tried to upgrade to GNOME-2.16 from experimental repo;apt-pinned.failed fells..
Code:
etch:~# apt-get -t experimental install gnome-desktop-environment
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gnome-desktop-environment: Depends: gnome-core (= 1:2.16.2) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: file-roller (>= 2.16.2) but 2.14.4-2 is to be installed
Depends: gnome-about (>= 2.16.2) but 2.14.3-1 is to be installed
Depends: gnome-nettool (>= 2.16.0) but 2.14.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: gnome-utils (>= 2.16.2) but 2.14.0.dfsg-4 is to be installed
Depends: gnome-volume-manager (>= 2.15.0) but 1.5.15-1+b1 is to be installed
Depends: nautilus-cd-burner (>= 2.16.2) but 2.14.3-5 is to be installed
Depends: sound-juicer (>= 2.16.2) but 2.14.5-1 is to be installed
Depends: zenity (>= 2.16.2) but 2.14.3-1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages
etch:~#
So wait and wait no other ways...GNOME has no backports repos unlike KDE mess...
