Question Getting ndiswrapper after netinst install, not internet connection

I am trying to install debian netinst on a really old laptop so that I can turn it into a digital photo frame (Specifically a DPF that will eventually sync with flickr). The laptop is so old that it actually doesn't have an ethernet port, so the only way that I can connect it to the net is its PCMCIA Netgear WG511U 802.11abg card which works with ndiswrapper. The catch: how can I install ndiswrapper when I don't have a connection to begin with? I do have a floppy drive, so I can transfer data to the computer with that, but other than that I have no idea what to do. Most of my linux experience has been with powerful kubuntu systems which are ever so much easier to work with.

Thanks in advance, I love this forum.

So are you trying to do a floppy netinstall?

I bought a cheap PCMCIA ethernet card and that did the trick for me. It cost me like $10 at a pawn shop and I just keep stuff like that around as future tools.

Actually its a cd netinst install, but essentially the same. Maybe I'll just go out and buy a pcmcia ethernet card......grr.....

Thanks

No, I just assumed you didn't have a CD drive since you were talking about floppies. Why don't you try downloading the first full Debian CD. Then you can install the whole desktop and you should be able to figure out which CD has ndiswrapper on it.

http://www.debian.org/CD/faq/#search-for-package

I searched and it looks like the CD with ndiswrapper-utils might be CD #7.
