Have you recently upgraded anything? Fresh install? Old install? Does the keyboard respond (caps lock cause caps lock light to come on) when it hangs?

its a old install ..and key board is working .caps logs is also and
CTR+ ALT+ DEL is also working ,,

Hrrm, I'd try to boot from a rescue cd and reinstall the latest kernel on there.
