font trouble
hi, I'm using a Debian Sarge. I have a problem with italian letters such as è, à etc. when I use the terminal. I tried to reconfigure the locales with
dpkg-reconfigure locales and selected a different character map, but still doesn't work. Any help? Thanks |
You need to use a special key to inform your system that the next character is a special one. I use the right "windows" key, in combination with the back- and forward tick (these: ' and `) Setting that up is easy from your desktop: click 'Applications" -> "Desktop preferences" -> "Keyboard" -> "Layout Options" Choose your layout and close. Should work immidiately, maybe you need to reboot.
