i have just installed Debian "Lenny" AMD64 in my PC, but i can't find a compatible flash player for AMD64 in the adobe site, the only version i found is for i386
Add the Backports repo to /etc/apt/sources.list,then aptitude update
Install the keyring with aptitude install debian-backports-keyring.
Then install the plugin with aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree.
Check it's installed correctly by typing aboutlugins in the browser address bar.
Does it do exactly the same job as the 32 bits version
Yes,i used it myself.Works ok.
Although Adobe describe it as an 'alpha' release.
At one time i used nspluginwrapper with the 32-bit plugin on a 64-bit browser.
These days i just install from the Debian Testing repos.
Quote:
Is it an official Adobe released plugin
They describe it as a pre-release version.
But its been around for sometime, and been through several different versions.
Works just fine for me,either downloaded from the Adobe site or using the Debian package.
