fixing my Keyboard

Hi there
I just installed Debian 4.0 (64bit for AMD) and i have a small problem with my keyboard. For instance, if I press shift+2 i should get @ but i get ". I feel quite sure that there should be a setting that sets the keyboard to its default.
Does anybody know how to configure the keyboard?

Thanks
