Firefox 1.5, how to get it to recognize mplayer?

I've got firefox 1.5 installed, as well as the .deb for 1.0.7. Currently I've set up symlinks in order to get flash and java working. Is there any way to replace 1.0.7 w/ 1.5 w/out messing up my system?

Just copy the plugins from their current directory to ...../firefox-1.5/plugins (and components).

Is there any way to set it up so as to replace the current 1.0.7 install w/ the new 1.5? I've currently got it in ~/.firefox.

all of the plugins in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins are symlinks. It won't let me copy them. Other suggestions?

To copy the symlinks, use the -d (--no-dereference) argument.
So, to copy the plugins, you could use something like this:
Code:
sudo cp -d /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/* /usr/lib/firefox/plugins

Thank, that's good to know. Actually what happened was I was having trouble w/ 1.5. I think there's something about the way the mozilla-mplayer package was built, that it doesn't work w/ 1.5. I'll just stick w/ 1.0.7 until there's a .deb for 1.5.
