Lightbulb file limitation

hi, all
I was wondering is there any file limitation in a single directory. For instance, how many files allowed at most, total size allowed etc. I know in window's NTFS system there are some limitation about this.

Thanks ahead

That totally depends on your filesystem. There are a few pages out there that give you the rundown on Single File size and max depth. google for 'em my friend!

Actually, the limit for NTFS is the size of the partition minus whatever is needed for the logs, allocation table and the like.
For FAT32 and FAT it is 4GB, so that means no DVD isos.
I don't know about linux filesystems, but I know that for Rieserfs and XFS it is very high. Ext2/3 probably is high too, but I wouldn't reccommend using it as it is inefficient and old.
