File Default Application

I just noticed today that in kde I can't save any updated settings in kcontrol and also when right clicking on a file and going to properties to change the default application that it will open with will not be saved either. Anyone have any clue where to start?

Running testing btw

Look at the permissions of ~/.kde/ and the contents.
You could try "find ~/.kde/ -not -user "yourusername" or "find ~/.kde/ -user root". I wonder if you kdesu'd to root and had a setting saved with root ownership.

Permissions are all ok in /home. I am not sure how an application gets set to be the default of something or where the conf files are but there is alot of stuff like that in /usr/share/mimelnk/ and it is all root. hmm

Hmm well I just deleted the /home/*user*/.kde folder and restarted kde and the problem was still there. I am wondering if this is a bug in konqueror or something? Anyone else have this problem?
