You're board uses the G41 chip sporting the GMA X4500 controller. (http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1725...chProdSpec.pdf)

I found your other thread at http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57615.

The problem is probably your video driver. I'd do as cynwolf suggests and upgrade your driver, and preferably your distribution as a whole to squeeze. Try the xserver-xorg-video-intel package. I believe, that's the one that supports your board (I could be wrong).

I had a similar issue with 2.6.28-8 after an update just recently. In my case, udev was broken (I must've interrupted dpkg/apt-get/aptitude during an update, and /sbin/udevadm.upgrade was not properly upgraded and moved to /sbin/udevadm - I had messages reporting the lack of /sbin/udevadm during bootup).

After I manually did dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/udev_139-1_i386.deb, the problem dissapeared and once again X etc worked fine for me.
It could be udev is out of wack. Assuming udev is installed ('dpkg-query -s udev | grep Status') I'd try updating it with 'aptitude install udev' or reconfiguring it with 'dpkg --configure udev'.

Investigate the installed packages on your fedora install. Search for things related to Intel and GMA. Look at version numbers and dates. It may give you a clue.

If you moved to a new board because your old one died, it might not have left the filesystem in a consistent state. If so, I'd run fsck from your Fedora install. If it finds problems, you may need to purge and reinstall some packages to fix them.
