Fatal server error


when i try start X window, i type startx and i get this error:

(EE) no device detected (i'm using nv driver , beacuse i got Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 400)

Fatal server error:
no screens found

i'm using latets Debian on vmware 4 for windows!

anyone know how to fix it or what is wrong?

i know problay bit hard tell just this short error...yes i'm a newbie on linux :P

Not hard at all, and if you'd read the documentation for vmware you'd know it too: you don't have a GeForce 2 MX 400 in vmware, it's all virtual. So remove those drivers and reconfigure it for default use.

Wanna thank alot for that info, was to easy to figure out :P

if anyone else have same problem, go to www.vmware.com and download there Xfree86 Svga file, and follow instructions there

and change mouse (if won't work) to second option, the one after xxx/input/mouse, then first option in next list about mouse, and should work, did for me atleast!

not best guide i just typed here but hehe, if u managed to get this far then u should understand bit!
