/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf debs equivelent


Hello in slackware there is a file called "/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf" can some one tell me what the equivelent is in debian please.
This is so i can edit it to add private ip numbers for my lan.

/etc/network/interfaces is where I set the static IP addresses on my debian boxes.

very simple setup.. normal nic and the ra0 is my wireless nic

iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet static
        address 192.168.0.254

        address 192.168.1.254
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        broadcast 192.168.1.255
        gateway 192.168.1.1
