/etc/apt/sources.list update problem
i have entered the url at /etc/apt/sources.list but i can not save it an the message is that i have not permission.

ive in tered as single user mode using root pass wards and entered /etc/apt/sources.listat the command promt but still it says permission denied

while i can not enter the url and update atp-get, cant install the softwers

can u tell what is wrong with it?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. If you want to edit the file, you need to use an editor. So as root you would do something like nano /etc/apt/sources.list and then modify it to point to the repositories you want.

If you want to update apt, you run apt-get update. If you want to install software you run apt-get install softwarename.
