Emulex 7000E configuration

I have an Emulex 7000E fibrechannel controller card that I have hooked into a Compaq RA4100 raid array box.

The driver for the emulex 7000e loads (the lpfc module) but once it loads, there is no way to scan for the drives that are located off of the emulex.

Does anyone have any experience working with these cards that can give me a tip or three?

Do not know if you will get many people here but you could try an email to debian-user@lists.debian.org. Making sure to put in a good subject give as many details as possible as to what you have done/tried so far to get it working all hardware involved and ask for a CC if you are not subscribed to the list making sure to reply back to the list with your questions/answers not to the individuals that reply they get real picky about that.
