Could you check if you have enough free space? In the case of multi-partition setup, that is be probably /var.

Looks more like Debian/Ubuntu than Slackware.

You'll need to paste the output of the "dpkg --configure -a" command.

And yes, this is a Debian thing.. I thought Slackware used pkgtool.
