DVD image MD5sum do not match from Jigdo or BitTorrent

I tried to download debian-31r0a-i386-binary-1.iso and debian-31r0a-i386-binary-2.iso dvd image through jigdo on XP and found that MD5sum do not match after completion but return no error.

I switch to Bit Torrent to download both files again. Again, they did not match. But ISO files from torrent md5sum match jigdo md5sum. I ran recheck on the Azureus and it return no error.

Is there something about the XP platform to cause this to happen or I am doing something wrong completely?

md5summer result:
debian-31r0a-i386-binary-1.iso
ac1d1f03d08ea56eb767ab1f91773174
debian-31r0a-i386-binary-2.iso
ac1d1f03d08ea56eb767ab1f91773174

Any help would be appreciated to understand what's going on. Thanks.

For starters is the size of the iso you downloaded the same as posted on the web site? If the size is different then the md5 will not work , I know cause I got trapped that way my self

Are you checking the md5 sum of the dl'd iso or have you burnt the DVD and are checking the md5 of the DVD?. If your trying to check the md5 post burn then it will not work.

As a general rule dl'ing iso under XP is the same as in linux

That's totally wierd. both images return the same md5sum.

try another checking utility

this was the first one that google gave

http://www.pc-tools.net/files/win32/...d5sums-1.2.zip

haven't tried it myself.

Thanks for all the help on this silly problem.

This was few issues rolled into one.
It turns out the window m5dsummer generator v.1.1.0.19 was not giving binary m5dsum.
I loaded ubuntu and did jigdo with files from disk 1 and 2. Some files was readable/missing. Upon completion of both ISO files, m5dsum was a match. Brought the file back to XP and check with the new m5dsum (Thanks Garda) and it was good too.
Thanks everyone.
