Duplicate packages in Aptitude

For debian etch
I ran aptitude, and there was a window view with installed, not-installed etc packages.

There is an "A" next to "i" for many packages. What does the "A" mean ? An example can be found in:

A=Automatic

The package was automatically installed as a dependency of some other application.
