dpkg-reconfigure ethenconf ain't workin'

hi crew
i'm trying to get my internet connected(T1 network ethernet connection) to work . during my initial intallation it told me if i use dpkg-reconfigure ethenconf then i could rerun that component of the installation and set it up. however, when i type this it says that there is no such reconfigure option here. i don't think i'm typing it wrong. could someone tell me how i can set up my connention throught the terminal as i don't have any xserver up yet.

Do you have etherconf installed? If yes, then simply doing (as root) "etherconf" should be enough to configure your network connection.

yeah
i'm in root but i would have thought that ethencof would be installed already. is there a way i can find out if it is or not? is there a way ii can install it without being connected, and prehaps is there a way i can get connected without ethenconf. kinda tricky. i'm useing a distro call demudi which is debian but narrowed down somewhat.

Etherconf indeed is a nice program. Run "dpkg -l etherconf" to see if it's installed (the option is small L, not big i). If etherconf is not installed, this document should give you info on configuring your network connection manually:

LOL, this is where the "configure-debian" utility becomes handy. If you cannot remember the exact name of the package that you want to reconfigure via DebConf, configure-debian will show it to you.
