DPKG and truncated package name list
I have a question about the 'dpkg -l' command.
If executed in a 'standard' terminal window, all of the package names longer than (about) 15 characters are truncated. If the terminal window is dragged out nice and wide, the names are no longer truncated. Great.
But, if the output of 'dpkg -l' is piped to a file (or less), from this wide window, the resultant file has the truncated names from the smaller window display.
Does anyone know how to get around this?
