Downloading Debian - what is 2.5G update image ?


Hi,

I'm downloading latest debian dvd images.
Besides 3 dvd images there is one about 2.5G update image:
debian-update-4.0r4a-i386-DVD-1.iso

What does exactly it updates ?
Do I need to download that ?

Once you have installed Debian on your machine, you can always update by adding appropriate repositories in your
Quote:
/etc/apt/sources.list
and then typing in the Terminal as root
Quote:
apt-get update
and
Quote:
apt-get upgrade
However, it seems a LARGE update. Is that the stable version? Because the Debian.org says
Quote:
Latest official release of the "stable" CD images: 4.0 rev4.
In that case, you could install Lenny ("testing", frozen recently) which is gonna be Stable soon.
