Does samba limit the size of files?

Hi,

Guys newbie here using Debian 3.1. I used 10G on /home using LVM. I tried to copy a 1g file on /home/test from a windows machine using samba, but when i reached 700mb+ i was prompted that "there is not enough disk space" in my Linux machine.

When i do lvmdiskscan my /dev/hdc1 is still 9.31GB on the LVM physical volume and this is my /home directory. Did i miss something here that i cant fully use my 9.31G on /home?

When i do lvscan /dev/vg1/home is active.

Thamks in advance.

I tried transfering a 4GB file over Samba from Windows to Linux once and it was cut off at 2GB. I am guessing that is the file size limit, not sure on what end, but I don't think your problem is related to Samba.

Thanks Juan,

I guess theres a problem with my LVM since i defined a 10G space for /home directory and tried copying files into /home/ftp. As i look at the free space its nearly full at 896MB with a free space of 62mb and a used space of 834mb.

when i do lvmdiskscan my /dev/hdc1(/home) is still at 9.31GB and lvscan will advise that /dev/vg1/home is active. I hope you can assist me on this or other guys who might know on this.

Thanks in advance.
