Does anyone have installed package lists for clean install Debian Wheezy?

Does anyone have installed package lists for clean or unmodified installs of Wheezy? I'm looking for Gnome, KDE, LXDE, and XFCE.

Why am I asking? I have burned DVD1 of Wheezy and it gets to hardware recognition and then stops. I'll get a netinst and do a fresh install that way, hopefully not get stuck at hardware recognition, but I want to see what I install compared to what is in a DVD1 install.

Don't you md5sum check your iso after it has finished downloading?

Nope nothing like that at all. That is a list of files on the individual DVDs. I am looking for the list of installed debs on a running fresh or unmodified Gnome system, then KDE, then LXDE, and then XFCE.

Yes I do, I think it may be a bug in d-i.

Hi,

I think the easiest way to get these lists would be to do the installs in virtual machines and then run 'dpkg --get-selections'. Probably take an hour or so.

I can't get past hardware recognition, as mentioned in the first post, on a regular hdd or a VM (I tried a VM today). How am I supposed to get the list if I can get past that?

Sorry, I'd assumed you had access to another machine and install media.

No need to be sorry I should have explained it better in my initial post.

I have 2 laptops and 3 different desktops. I have tried to install off a DVD and also a USB using beta 1 and the current beta (2?). I was going to try a current netinst but I think that would have the same issue. My next plan is to use an earlier netinst I have and to use, if I can get them, a installed packages list to get the install completed.

I have debian testing i386 lxde + Xfce cd from jan 2012 anything after april I haven't been able to install. Also have debian testing AMD64 from feb 2012
Scratch lxde + Xfce, but I do have older versions of wheezy testing & will install to VB & give package list

This 1 is for gnome my Xfce + Lxde was squeeze when it was testing.

So it's not just me that can't install it. I'm happy about that. Will do some research on this issue and see if I can help a bit to fix it. Wheezy will be useless if people can't install it.

The gnome install is wheezy that's the package list I gave.
The installer after april have problems.
The disk that I used was from marh.

Did you ever get started on any of those systems. I just tried the bootstrap method which went fairly well no hangups what-so-ever a few minor issues but nothing serious & no dependency problems.

No I haven't Eddy. There have been a few things happen at home in the last month that have meant I haven't had the time to devote to it as much as I thought I would. Hopefully at the beginning of October (after Uni finishes for the year) I will be able to devote more time to to it again.

I'll take a look at that thread now.
