Do not install artwiz-cursor on debian etch
 

I just learned the hard way and figured I'd tell people...

X will not start and you will not get the cursor.

:( ...time to go fix it.

Fixed; if you already did this:

1) ctrl+alt+f2
2) login as root
3) cd /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc/
4) rename cursor.pcf.gz-artwiz to cursor.pcf.gz
5) apt-get remove --purge xfonts-base
6) apt-get remove --purge artwiz-cursor
7) apt-get instlal xorg
8) /etc/init.d/gdm stop
9) gdm

should be working again.

Did you post this to Debian Bugzilla? I'm that sure boys and girls over there would like to know about broken package.

New to this and never thought to so did a search and found no entry; submitted a report now :)

Before you file that bug... is it even available in etch?
