Dist-Upgrade from the Current Lenny to Sid

Anyone know how smooth that is right now? Ive used it to upgrade stabe to testing before a few times and testing to unstable a few also a while ago. But last time I did a dist-upgrade between testing and unstable was a few years back and I remember it completely breaking Xserver and a few other things cause they were changing the format of how it was setup or something like that (think it was when they were first adding Xorg over Xfree86)

I can google or search my way through most issues, but would rather avoid it if its going to require allot of reconfiguring, so just wondering if anyone has done one recently and can just let me know if it goes pretty smooth or did it require much additional work.

Also, are there any downsides to doing a dist-upgrade on a established system ive been using for a month or 2, or should it really be done on a fresh install so your using it from the beginning?

The upgrade is easy. How well it will run is another question. Seems to be fairly solid right now, tho.

Should be just fine. Sid is pretty "stable" right now. LAst I knew Lenny was only a couple weeks behind the updates in Sid so you shouldn't have any issues.

aptitude dist-upgrade should handle it just fine.
