direct installation from network?debootstrap?

hello, i wanted to install fedora core linux but the cd was damaged or something- i'm now working on live knoppix cd -so i can't create a new cd (and on my laptop there isn't a floppy drive).
i tried something with debootstrap command but i'm not familliar with this command..
i have some experiences with ubuntu and would like it back-or something debian based
it's quite urgent...else i'd ask someone to burn an installation cd for me

Well, from what I can make out of your post, you are in bad shape.

With no CD burner, no floppy drive, and no server to do a netboot from, you are quickly running out of options.

The only thing I can think of is to use an external USB HDD (or even thumb drive) with the HD installer on it.

However, that would require your computer to be able to boot from USB, since you don't even have a floppy drive to use something like Smart Boot Manager.
