Debian with Dual Xeon processor.
Hello,
I installed Debian 3.0 on IBM server xSeries 345 with dual Xeon processor. In cpuinfo file has 4 processor is ok but when I run top, I saw only one cpu in process. What I have do special for enable other cpu? How can I do? |
It sounds like you are running a kernel that does not support multiple processors. Have you installed the most recent kernel?

How can I do? Where I can get it?
Thanks. |
Well....there are a number of different ways to do this. The command line method would be with apt-get, but I have a feeling that is not going to work for you.
In your case, I am going to assume that you are using a GUI such as gnome or KDE, in which case the best thing I can think of would be a program called Synaptic. If this is not the case, then aptitude is probably right up your alley. There is documentation out there on how to use each of these programs. |
Just to be sure, when running top, press the "i" key, usually if smp is disabled, then cpuinfo wll only show one processor iirc
