Debian testing: where is the xorg.conf file?

Hello,

I installed a new pc with testing debian. It says that the Xorg cannot start due to resolution and ddc.

But where is gone the xorg.conf? there is nothing into /etc/X11 no /usr/share/X11 ...?

what happens to that file?

hey frenchnoob
did you try

xorg -configure
or
X -configure

and then it make a xorg.conf I think?

what graphics card you got?

anyway, heres 2 xorg.conf's you can try

it contains xorg.conf-vesa & xorg.conf-fbdev
http://multidistro.com/downloads/Apps/xorgconf.tar.gz

if X -configure dont work try using the vesa conf
just copy/mv xorg.conf-vesa to xorg.conf

You need to stop X first.
Check the link in my sig for how to generate an xorg.conf.

There is no xorg.conf.

Newer versions of Xorg auto-detect your configuration if there is no xorg.conf.
