debian testing last upgrade

Good morning:
I have debian tsting installed on a 64 bit amd, in the last update I think they have updated login packages. When I rebooted the computer does not start the session after logging me.
My user appears and I can type the password but the session does not load any ideas so that I do not have to reinstall everything again.

Hi, if you are able to login to the console then try running aptitude. This is a text based package manager. It should show you if any packages are broken an guide you to correct the problem.

sudo aptitude -u

If aptitude runs then be patient and read all messages and menus. If you have a broken package then a red highlight across the bottom will appear with the option to explore.

Hope that helps.

In the future, learn how to use Clonezilla. I've got debian testing also. Sometimes an update in anything called "testing" can brick your OS. With Clonezilla, 10 minutes later you're back in business.
